Private professional one-on-one math tutoring and academic coaching with 20+ years tutoring experience. Specializing in remedial, enrichment and home-schooling mathematics, arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry trigonometry and pre-calculus.  Test prep is available for children or adults for the New York State Regents, ACT, SAT, TACHS, HSPT, SHSAT, GED, GMAT, GRE and other standardized exams.  All tutoring is done with a focus on organizational, study, note-taking and time-management skills with an emphasis on building the student's confidence and self-esteem.  Whether students need remedial math tutoring or want to learn advanced mathematics, helping students master math is where I come in.  I have more than four decades combined experience as a  corporate trainer, instructor, and tutor.  Using my own experiences as examples, I have learned how to connect with students who are struggling.  I will adapt my teaching methods to how the student learns best.  I help the student achieve overall success in mathematics through consistency.  I establish a bond with the student and become a learning mentor, not just a tutor.

Test Preparation

  • Remedial math tutoring for individuals in elementary school through college.

  • Math enrichment for gifted students or those desiring extra math instruction beyond that offered at their schools

  • Some parents choose to educate their children at home, and these students generally do quite well. However, many parents encounter difficulty trying to teach their children mathematics. The way math is taught has changed a great deal in the past few generations, and many parents find the math baffling.

Unfortunately, many students have a hard time grasping math concepts in school; and because complex mathematics builds upon simple mathematics, once a student falls behind in math, it is very difficult for that student to get caught up again.

For example, mastering trigonometry requires competency in arithmetic, algebra, and geometry. In addition, students who fall behind in math have a hard time with other subjects that require math, such as chemistry, physics, engineering, business, accounting, and other math-intensive subjects.

Although some specific standardized tests are becoming optional, it is always best to take them to make you or your child more competitive in a very competitive world. I  help prepare the student for not only the test material, but for the entire test-taking experience itself, including proper test-day preparation, time management, and overcoming "test anxiety" and test-day jitters.

If the test you or your child is taking is not listed above, please feel free to inquire.
